The main character of the newest installment of VII, Zack Fair, friend to Cloud in the past, was seen in the CGI-made movie of the same game. Zack was Cloud's best friend back when Zack was alive and with ShinRa. If you've seen the movie, you'll see glimpses of Zack in Cloud's flashbacks. I have found images of the scenes which depicts Zack below.

When I first saw this, I had no idea who he was. Thank god they put him in a game to learn his past.

it was in the game you had to go back to Shinra Manson I think on the 4th disk , in the basement were Sephiroth was reading books near the big glass case were both of them was in
